The applications are many, and only a few applicants are selected (approximately 10% or less). Therefore, getting an interview is an achievement in itself. So, if you have gotten to this stage, congratulations, which means you have already made a positive impression! Don’t worry; we’ve got your back if you haven’t!
When you walk into an interview, it only takes 30 seconds to make a lasting first impression. Research has shown that the first impression you leave on an interviewer sticks and sticks hard! The first few seconds can determine if you will be through or out of the selection list!!!
According to a Harvard University study, not only do we have seven seconds to make an excellent first impression, but if that first impression is wrong, it takes eight subsequent positive encounters to change that person’s negative opinion of you. Remember that you are being judged on the appearance that you present, your body language, your demeanour and your dress code.
Most importantly, we need to keep in mind that your potential employer has already read your CV and decided to call you in for an interview. Now it’s all up to how you present yourself.
